I assume this was shot at late afternoon or dusk. Nice composition! However, the sunflower is somewhat washed out by the flash. Is that what happened to it?

Yes, this was shot at late afternoon using flash for lighting the sunflower but I don’t really feel like it was washed out by the flash.
